A Home Away from Home for Your Dog or Cat
Planning a vacation, work trip, or weekend getaway? Let your pet be our guest at Rialto Animal Hospital.
When your dog stays with us, they’re cared for by a team that already knows them — and brings together animal medicine, training, comfort, and a whole lot of TLC. Because your pet deserves more than “just a kennel.” They deserve care that feels thoughtful, safe, and personal.
Veterinary-Supervised Boarding You Can Feel Good About
Boarding at Rialto Animal Hospital is designed around your pet’s comfort, safety, and routine. Our team provides attentive daily care, clean accommodations, and the kind of monitoring that gives you peace of mind while you’re away.
Our boarding care includes:
- Veterinary supervision from a team you already trust
- Trained veterinary assistants providing daily care and check-ins
- Prompt medical attention if any concerns come up during the stay
- Medication administration and special diet support
- Heated and air-conditioned boarding areas
- A secure outdoor exercise and play space
- Three daily walks for dogs
- Wellness and preventive care options during boarding (more on this below)
- Complimentary baths for dogs boarding 4 nights or more, when appropriate*
- Complimentary cuddles (okay, fine, that one’s mostly for us)
*Complimentary baths are provided at staff discretion. Fearful, aggressive, or dogs requiring extensive grooming may not be eligible.
Boarding for Dogs
Our dog boarding area includes both small and large accommodations, so we can match your dog’s size, comfort level, and personality. Dogs enjoy regular potty breaks, outdoor walks, clean bedding, and one-on-one attention from our pet-loving team.
Whether your dog is a social butterfly, a senior who prefers a quiet corner, or a little nervous away from home, we’ll do our best to help them feel safe, comfortable, and loved while you’re gone.
Want Dedicated Boarding for Cats? It’s Right Next Door
While we do offer a separate cat boarding area at Rialto Animal Hospital, we strongly encourage cat families to consider boarding at Rialto Cat Hospital — our feline-exclusive hospital located right next door.
Because cats aren’t small dogs. And they know it.
Rialto Cat Hospital’s boarding facility was designed specifically for feline comfort, with quieter, calmer surroundings and amenities like window-view condos, natural sunlight, sunbathing perches, bird-watching opportunities, private litter areas, Feliway pheromone diffusers, and classical music. It’s the ultimate feline-friendly experience.
Medical Boarding for Special-Needs Pets
Some pets need extra support while their families are away — and because we’re a veterinary hospital, we may be able to help. Our limited medical boarding is available for pets who need:
- Daily or scheduled medications
- Special therapeutic diets
- Routine medical monitoring
- Extra support for diabetes, kidney disease, or other ongoing conditions
- Senior pet care that requires a closer eye
Medical boarding availability depends on your pet’s specific needs, so please give us a call to discuss whether our facility is the right fit.
Wellness Care During Boarding
While it is best to have wellness care completed prior to their stay for optimal protection, boarding stays can also be a convenient time to catch up on routine care. Depending on your pet’s health and our appointment availability, we may be able to take care of:
- Wellness exams
- Vaccines
- Parasite testing
- Preventative care
- Nail trims
- Medication refills
- Dental cleanings
- Other recommended services
We’ll always discuss recommendations and costs with you before moving forward.
Boarding Requirements for Dogs and Cats
To protect every pet in our care, all boarding guests must be current on required vaccines and fecal/internal parasite testing. These requirements reduce the risk of contagious illness and help keep our boarding environment safer for everyone.
Please contact our team before your pet’s stay so we can confirm records, discuss any needed updates, and make check-in smooth.
Things to Know Before You Book
A few practical notes for boarding guests:
- Drop-off and pick-up windows are between 8:30 AM and 10:30 AM, and 3:00 PM and 4:30 PM, so our team can manage feeding, walks, care, and (yes) cuddle time
- Bring any medications in their original, clearly labeled containers
- Bring enough food for the duration of your pet’s stay if they’re on a special diet
- We provide bedding and bowls — but if you bring items from home, please label them clearly with your pet’s first and last name
- Bring proof of current vaccinations and fecal testing if your pet receives care at another hospital
- The office is closed on Sundays and holidays, and drop-off or pick-up is unavailable on those days
